Connecting Your Business with Government Contracts
The APEX Accelerators, formerly known as the Procurement Technical Assistance Program (PTAP), was authorized by Congress in 1985 to expand the number of businesses capable of participating in government contracts. The APEX Accelerators program focuses on building a strong, sustainable, and resilient U.S. supply chain by assisting a wide range of businesses that pursue and perform under contracts with the DoD, other federal agencies, state and local governments and with government prime contractors.
APEX Accelerators Help Businesses:
• Complete registration with a wide range of databases necessary to participate in the government marketplace
• Identify which agencies and offices may need their products or services and how to connect with buying agencies and offices
• Determine whether businesses are ready for government opportunities and how to position themselves to succeed
• Navigate solicitations and potential funding opportunities
Department of Energy Grants: Energy Improvements in Rural or Remote Areas
Rural and remote areas often have higher energy costs and burden, less resilient energy systems, and fewer alternatives for accessing clean energy compared with their urban counterparts. Furthermore, small communities do not always have the available time, money, or other resources to pursue clean energy options. This program serves communities of 10,000 people or fewer.
Projects Must Support at Least One of the Following:
• Improving overall cost-effectiveness of energy generation, transmission, or distribution systems
• Siting or upgrading transmission and distribution lines
• Reducing greenhouse gas emissions from energy generation in rural or remote areas
• Providing or modernizing electric generation facilities
• Developing microgrids
• Increasing energy efficiency
Awards Range from $2 Million to $50 Million

Transforming Waterways, Revitalizing Neighborhoods
The Urban Waters Learning Network delivers tools, training, mentoring, and financial assistance related to water quality, habitat conservation, and flood resilience. The Network is a peer-to-peer network for sharing practical on-the-ground experiences in order to improve urban waterways and revitalize the neighborhoods around them.
The Network’s Resource Toolbox can guide communities with impactful stories, guides and collaborative fundraising ideas that share practical on-the-ground experiences in order to improve urban waterways and revitalize the neighborhoods around them.

The Nevada Builders Foundation has partnered with Nevada Women’s Fund to establish a $10,000 endowed scholarship aimed at empowering women pursuing careers in the trades. The scholarship aligns with Nevada Women’s Fund’s mission to create opportunities for women and highlights the Nevada Builders Foundation’s commitment to fostering a diverse workforce.
Nevada Builders Foundation is dedicated to workforce development and supporting underrepresented groups in the construction industry. The endowed scholarship will support educational opportunities for women in Northern Nevada pursuing careers in fields such as construction, carpentry, electrical work, and other trades.
