Accessible Rural Communities Solutions Roundtable 

How can rural communities ensure residents of all ages and abilities are able to live, work, and thrive? WeCAN Solutions is presenting a Roundtable on Accessible Rural Communities on Nov. 18, 2025 via Zoom to hear stories and strategies from across the West. Connecting with peers in interactive discussions where you can share your own experiences and ideas. The event is Cohosted by the Western Rural Development Center. The Accessible Rural Communities Solutions Roundtable will explore how rural communities across the West are advancing accessibility, addressing the needs of people with physical disabilities, older adults aging in place, neurodiverse residents, and others who benefit from access assistance.

2025 Show Your Park Some Love 

The National Recreation and Parks Association (NRPA) has launched the Show Your Park Some Love Grant, empowering local park and recreation agencies to inspire community engagement and to promote recycling. Is your agency looking to launch, innovate or expand your recycling program? Are you passionate about keeping watersheds clean? Apply to receive $10,000 to support park and recreation-based recycling events, educational programing, or essential supplies. Agencies will work with NRPA staff and national Love Campaign partners to create a dynamic marketing plan and promote community recycling in parks. The grant will run from January to May 2026, with agencies holding their events between February and April.

Get Ready for the Next Brownfields Cycle   

Now is the time to move quickly and secure resources that can turn contaminated sites into thriving community assets. Join experts from the Center for Creative Land Recycling, National League of Cities and other guest speakers from 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. PST on Thursday, Oct. 9 for an insiders’ look at program changes, application tips, and strategies to make your application stand out.

The National League of Cities’ Local Infrastructure Hub provides pro-bono technical training through Bootcamps and Workshops. The Center for Creative Land Recycling is leading the NLC’s Grant Application and Implementation Workshop for the FY26 EPA Brownfields Assessment, Cleanup and Multipurpose Grants. This year’s FY26 EPA Multipurpose, Assessment, and Cleanup (MAC) Brownfields Grants are likely your final opportunity to tap into elevated funding levels before they drop. The EPA anticipates that more than $255 million will be available during the FY 26 Brownfields funding cycle, which is anticipated to open this month.
